Ramey Short (Actor)
My first shoot for an actor. This series is a portfolio shoot I did for South African TV & film actor, Ramey Short, who is best known for his role as Dr. Quinton Meyer in the KykNet soapie "Binnelanders".
Since I've been working with models mostly up until late, it was interesting to work with an actor for once. For the purpose of this blog, I decided to give the final images a more editorial look to give it some story. The name, "Echelon" refers to class and the elite. My focus was to interpret the visual style and overall atmosphere of the location's architecture and the inner-city attitude.
This was the first time also that I used the chill-out area on the roof of my newly relocated college, and it was great to see some old faces again.
The shoot was a nice break from my weekday job as a photographer at a marketing company, where I mainly do corporate portraits and events. Ramey & I plan to do many more such shoots to keep my creativity flowing.
